General requirements
Interscope BlackBox is a small utility and thus it requires little memory or other hardware resources. Below are listed the necessary hardware resources and installed software for every supported platform (please note that these are in fact the bare minimums to run the respective OS):

Windows 95

Windows 98/ME

Windows NT 4.0

Windows 2000/2003

Windows XP

Integration in other software
Some versions of Interscope BlackBox can integrate into third-party software (such as Microsoft Outlook 2000) if that software is installed.

Internet access
Some versions of Interscope BlackBox can be configured to automatically check for available updates (can be disabled), to automatically download encryption engines necessary for decrypting your files, documents and messages or to navigate you to relevant web pages when necessary.

This means that to fully take advantage of all BlackBox features, you will need Internet connectivity.

DCOM
Modularity of Interscope BlackBox is based on COM (Component Object Model) technology. If you are running Windows 95, you may not have DCOM (Distributed COM).

DCOM transparently provides support for reliable, secure, and efficient communication between COM components such as ActiveX® controls, scripts, and Java applets residing on different machines in a LAN, a WAN, or on the Internet. You can download it from Microsoft by clicking here.
